delve a little deeper....
Something I hear and read fairly often are the words 'I haven't done this sort of thing before' when chaps contact me to arrange a booking. It always makes me think of the scene from Father Ted when Ted and Dougal are protesting against a blasphemous film. Here's a clip is you don't know what I am talking about...
It always amuses me. If I had time I'll tell you about the time I met Father Jack (actor Frank Kelly) in a bar in the west end, but we'll save that for another day!
Anyway, I had an email this morning from a chap who was saying he 'hadn't done this thing before' and once I had chuckled over the image in my head of Father Jack I thought it might be useful to post something about the actual process of booking and visiting me so chaps new to this lark know what to expect.
I'm going to write it later (said newbie has booked me so I need to shower and make self lovely) and then I can link the blog entry to my other pages and make it a nice clear 'How to' guide without the Irish Priest waffle.
So, inevitably Spain beat France which means they will meet Portugal in the semis. Of course (and sadly) Germany beat Greece which is a shame because Greece really need cheering up right now and of course it means when (if) England beat Italy tomorrow we shall meet the Germans and we all know that rarely ends well....
Of course the Italians and The Germans don't have me and my various body parts encouraging them on. Here is picture 2 of 3 from the red vest with St George's cross in diamante design set!
Today I have tidied and cleaned and sorted tedious paperwork out. It was dull but useful. I am now watching TOTP2. They just played this which I sang along to.
Let's just ignore the ridiculous outdated notion of the song and the fact any man of mine would be likely you say 'Yuck, fuck off' if I tried to sing this to them, but alone in my lounge it makes for a nice singalong!
Right, things to do, people top see, toddle pip folks!
This morning I was looking at my website statistics and in particular the referrer sites, i.e where people have clicked to get onto this website. the most common ones are Adultwork and Punternet (you have to search to get me!) along with some of the other escort directories I am advertised on and a few search engines. The search engine thing is good because it means people are typing in key words and getting to me and I think a lot of people who are looking for something will start off on Google and as I am competing with agencies who have much higher traffic than me I am doing something right!
One thing I was confused about was finding I had 5 hits from a site called Reddit which appears to be full of random internet shit. Sorry, am sure there is a better way to describe it... ah, apparently it is a social news website owned by Conde Nast. Looks random to me. i was a bit concerned why I would be linked there so did a search for MinxyLydia (nothing) and then Minxy and Lydia separately, but nothing was relevant. How odd. As much as internet exposure is good for business one always worries that nasty untrue stuff might appear so I was a bit freaked. Oh well, it was only 5 hits so can't be too huge a deal.
What I did discover when searching Lydia is that nearly all the results were related to a character in a game called Skyrim, whatever that is... but it seems odd that so many men (boys?) seem to be obsessed with a cartoon woman in a video game...
As is the way of the internet, and my rambling mind I ended up looking up the meaning of my name. You would have thought I would have done that before now, but I never did. Lydia comes from the youngest Bennet sister in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Lydia ran away with a solider to have dirty pre marital sex, shamed her family and ended up having to marry him which is exactly what I would have done if I was a 19th century chick!
So, according to various websites Lydia comes from a historic region of Asia Minor, that included Troy and Ephesus. Lydia is also the name of a purple goods seller, in the Bible. She is considered the first European convert to Christianity. She was living in Thyatira which was on the border of the region of Lydia. I also read that it means beautiful and adored so am quite pleased with that!
Finally, whilst googling I discovered a song by Fur Patrol called Lydia, which appears to be about a woman who has been dumped for someone called Lydia. I'll post a Youtube link below but the best lyrics are:
Her arms are warm
Her legs are wide and so's her smile
I'm doing a photoshoot on Saturday with a dear old friend of mine (old as in I've known him 18 years, not elderly). It should be lots of fun and am busy thinking of inspiring, creative looks and shots. I want a bit more of my personality to come over and something a bit different from what I have already - trouble is what works in my head and how it will actually look may not be exactly the same!
I am currently pondering the suited look a la Demi Moore in Striptease....
Don't ever expect me to dance like that for you or think I am actually comparing myself to Demi Moore in any way, but the white shirt thing and tie is kind of sexy no? I have a bowler hat or a trilby somewhere too I think....
Anyway photos will be put up here in due course!
I am now off out to enjoy the sunshine!
